The only one (book 1 in the one series by Magan Vernon)

Melanie has been waiting all her life for the one ,the only one and as soon as she meets John she knows he's the one but fate changes everything and not in a good way. Melanie is left helpless and heartbroken ; she doesn't want John to feel like she's a burden but John will not back down when she needs him the most. But will Melanie let John fight for her or will she just push him away once and for all! 

This book was a very quick read, I have to admit I did not expect a big bombshell which was really surprising.
